It was an incredible feeling.
I've talked about it a couple of times at gigs, but basically, when I was a kid, living up the Dublin Mts, with only my thoughts as company, I'd watch those big Festivals on the TV, I'd see the expanse of crowd, set out in front of the performers, and I'd imagine that one day, that would be me standing up on that stage, looking out at a sea of people, and it felt so real and so achievable.
So being given the opportunity to experience that, I felt like 10 year old Kal had achieved her dream that day, and I will never forget how I felt, and how happy it made me. I'll carry it with me, to the end of my days.
I'm looking forward to seeing Ed play in front of 80,000 in Wembley today.
I think 10 year old Kal would be really excited to go to a concert like that, escape the Dublin Mountains, come to London, sit with friends, witness a talented friend play a show in front of all those people. Cheering, singing, living.
I feel so happy for Ed. He's achieved all that he's had through sheer belief, being decent, and working harder than anyone else I know. 10 year old Kal would be very proud of him, just like I am too :)
Roll on tonight.
