I'm playing the wonderful Cheltenham Underground show in Cheltenham this weekend (17th Sept 2016) alongside my great and talented friend Fiona Bevan!

And then I am supporting The Blow Monkeys in Hartlepool for the brilliant event MusicVcancer on the 1st October.

Both shows are now SOLD OUT.

I hope if you got tickets if you were able to come.

If you are London based, or happen to be around this way.
My third and probably last show of the year will be in The Vestry (in the grounds of St Giles in the Fields Church).
If you would like to come, there are Early Bird tickets available at the moment.

Note - Half of the tickets have already sold (and it's over a month away) so if you would like to come, grab a ticket today!

Oh hello there! :)

I thought I would update you on where I am, what I've been doing, and why I've been so quiet of late. ...

At the beginning of 2016 I was determined to get my album finished.
It was meant to be an EP (well that's what I crowdfunded for) but as time was ticking away and slipping away from me,  I decided it would be nicer to do an album, and maybe better for people who have been waiting such a long time for a release.
Better 10 songs than 4 songs right!!

So with my new found gung-ho 2016 spirit (aren't New Years great for that!!)
I set the wheels in motion.

I even provisionally booked a great venue for a summer release. And started planning, planning, planning!

What I wasn't expecting was other factors to come into play, and de-rail my plans. Various things, physical health stuff which was driving me to distraction..., the busy schedule of my producer to the point where he wasn't sure if he had the time to finish the album, stuff just happened, or didn't for that matter.

But it was a good lesson to learn, just because I am ready, doesn't necessarily mean the stars will align....

So for a moment, I wasn't even sure if the album would get finished....

But....

Then....

Everything was ok again. (Touch wood)

So album recording was back on.

And I'm so grateful.

Realising that a summer release was unrealistic at that stage, I just decided that getting it finished well was more important than rushing a release because I was afraid of what people might think with it taking such a long time.

Once I settled into the thought to just let it be, and create something wonderful, we got a lot done.

We decided to re-record all my vocals and guitars in a top notch studio (on mics worth thousands of pounds) and it was well worth it, you can really hear the difference. And we added bits and pieces in, and took bits and pieces out.
We also recorded more songs.
Which felt really good.

Where we are now is - we are going to re-record 'Get Out Of My Head' or as some people like to spell it 'Get Outta My Head' ;)
The version we recorded a while ago is cool (And you never know, I might release it too) but I felt like we could do better.
So we are in discussions of how we want it to sound at the moment. And that's what I'm concentrating on.

I'm feeling really good about the release. I really am. I'm actually pretty excited, and I'm not really one to be excited.

At the beginning of the year, I also said to myself that I didn't want to play very many gigs till I finished the album.
I've just looked on SongKick, and apparently I've only done 5 shows so far this year...
Boy was I serious about not gigging!! :O
Feels weird, and a part of me is like, that's probably the least amount of shows I have done in one year in the last 10 years..... But sometimes you need a break....

So at the moment, I'm just looking towards 2017, and having a busy year. 2016 is just a planning, finishing album, and getting ready.

I hope that's all cool, and maybe I will see you at some of the rare live shows I have left this year. (I have a little unplugged acoustic headline show in London on Friday 21st Oct, - 'Live in the Vestry', Tickets available here (Limited number)

Otherwise, hopefully see you in 2017.

Much love,
Kal. xx
