I am involved in a gig in the Royal Albert Hall, it's in celebration of the First Official visit of an Irish President to the UK. Its going to be hosted by peoples favourite Dermot O' Leary and a whole host of Irish stars will be performing (including Glen Hansard, Lisa Hannigan, Donal Lunny, John Sheehan (The Dubliners) and more!)
I will be singing as part of a choir, alongside my fellow Irish comrades living in London. We've been rehearsing the last few days and the harmonies are sounding pretty special.
The gig is on Thursday 10th April 2014, I would say come along, but it's Sold Out. There's some tickets on re-seller sites, but they are going for crazy money.
But - The event will be streamed live on RTÉ Player (available worldwide) from 20:25 GMT on 10th of April. The concert will also be broadcast live on RTÉ Radio 1 (including on-line). In addition, RTÉ 1 will present a 2 hour programme on the concert from 22.15 also on the night (10th of April) and this programme will subsequently be available internationally on the RTÉ Player. The BBC will present an hour long highlights programme, “Ultimate Irish Music at the Royal Albert Hall: A Presidential Celebration” on BBC 4 at 8pm on Sunday, 13th of April.
I feel honoured to be part of such a historic event. And I'm feeling very, very, proud to be Irish!! :)
